Low-cost Thermal Imaging
Testing lepton sensors for thermal-based camera traps for areas with dense foliage.
Microchip-sized, low cost thermal imaging has recently become affordable (~$100) and offers reasonable optics and resolution. We tested a range of sensors, distances, and animals and found the devices to be highly functional and likely useful for conservation application in the near future.
