Google Lens: Zoo Edition (AR)

Using sophisticated image recognition tools and custom-interfaced web code, we allow users to interact with zoological exhibits using a new architecture called Google Lens.

We prototyped an enhanced walk-though experience for visitors using Augmented Reality. With this tool, while moving through the new Africa Rocks exhibit at the San Diego Zoo, users experience enhanced signage and interactive surveys. Guests can (1) have relevant, up-to-date information about animals, (2) conduct participatory learning and citizen science, and (3) create shareable digital artifacts from their visit, enabling them to become advocates for the zoo.
