Animal View (Augmented Reality)

Offering visitors to the San Diego Zoo access to a dynamic, rich, engaging layer of information targeted to specific animals.

This application concept utilizes GPS coordinates and device orientation in combination with a database of animals on grounds to add rich information layers to the zoo guest experience.

AnimalView also offers detailed information about life history (including animal age, sex, offspring names, etc, linked in real-time from veterinary records), and offers easy ways for guests to donate or learn more.

Advantages over traditional signage include: (1) dynamic displays capable of continuous updates with live-feed data, (2) engaging 3D content, and (3) time-sensitive messaging.
